An ongoing project that blurs the lines between street, documentary and lifestyle photography. Where 'travel photography' often sells us on the idea of stereotypical cultural practices, 'unspoilt' scenery or traditional outfits that people don't wear anymore, I've focussed instead on the way people pose, the way light falls, and surroundings that are full of atmosphere, even if they're not on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
These pictures were created using real people I encountered on the streets rather than professional models, but in many cases re- staged and lit so as to enhance the feeling of the scene.
